MERZ was founded in 1946 by Gustav Merz. In spite of the difficult post-war period in the year 1952 a wide range of switches from 15A to 125A already existed.

Today 100 people are working at MERZ which is an independent operating company. MERZ is one of the leading companies for ACS (Assemblies for Construction Sites) in Germany. Since December 2005 the company PC Electric from St. Martin (Innkreis, Austria) is, new majority owner of the MERZ GmbH.

MERZ GMBH supplies a diversified and high quality range of products. This comprises the product range of low voltage switchgear, mobile current-distribution, testing panels, sheet metal works and customized products according to specifications of the client.

The program of low voltage switchgears includes cam switches and disconnect switches in open and ncapsulated design.The range of current-distribution contains a fully developed system of assemblies for construction sites for all projects in the building sector as well as current-distribution for events, market and fairgrounds, campsites
and marinas.

MERZ sheet metal components are used in our current-distributions as well as in a big number of applications of our costumers. The MERZ testing panels are used by industry and service to ensure safety for all kinds of portable electrical equipment
